Adelle was a German Shephard that appeared in a short story called 'The Dog of Flames',
The Dog of Flames
Adelle was to become an Army Dog, but due to his mild temperament and fear of fire, he was given to Kokichi Takuma as a companion dog. Adelle loves Kōkichi Takuma dearly and feels pride just being with him along the journey.
Adelle was taken away. Right when Adelle was taken across a bridge, an American plane bombed the town, and the area was filled with flames. Adelle was then locked inside of a barn with Hakuryū and many other dogs. When believing that Kōkichi and Torakichi were calling for his help, he tried to jump back to join his owners. Sadly his body was consumed by the fire.
