The Kagero Clan

Ganins (shinobis of fangs) were a special type of trained ninja dogs used by humans in 16th century.

Kacchū no Senshi GamuEdit

The story is set on the years 1559-1560. The ganins are used by Clan leaders to help in conflicts.

The Kagero Clan and Gama Clan trained the dogs at first and then gave them helmets containing a needle tipped with a special type of poison which makes the dogs' brains evolve. The dogd become more intelligent and thus able to wield weapons and wear armors. The ganins also got many other mysterious and supernatural powers. They're known of being able to talk, control human minds and telepathy. Ganins are expected to use their powers wisely and be extremely loyal to their masters.

Kagero Clan's ganins were known of defending territories instead of invading them unlike many other Clans. Most of them were Kishu dogs. Kagero Clan resided in Kai Province.

The Gama Clan was taken over by an evil ganin Gama who killed his master. Most of the ganins of Gama showed blind loyalty to him and were eager to invade the other territories and kill for his name.

Ginga Retsuden GaninEdit

The story is set in Iga in 1581-1582. It includes different kind of ganins than Kacchū no Senshi Gamu.

The Iga ganins and Kōga ganins wore accessory and wielded weapons, but had no actual supernatural powers and were unable to talk human language. It's unknown how and who trained Kōga ganins, but the Iga ganins originated from the Itō family which defended Iga. Kōga ganins were their comrades but betrayed them and joined the enemy, hoping to steal the secret technique scrolls of Itō .

Iga ganins were the ancestors of Iga Clan while Kōga ganins were the ancestors of Kōga Clan.
