Hitomi was once a pet dog, but her master treated her very badly before she was thrown away. She lived in the mountains, avoiding humans. One day, she meets Joe in one of his hunts, and the two fall in love. Joe continuously suggests Hitomi to come live with him because his master is a very kind human, but her past experiences make her reject this offer. On the day she gave birth to four pups, she was attacked and was killed by a Hybrid bear. Only one of the newly born pups survived the bear attack, and was named Koujiro.
